Working Principle Explained

This latch operates on a classic lever and over-center (toggle-lock) mechanism. Mount the hook on the lid and the strike plate on the opposing case body. Pressing the hook downward slides it into the strike plate opening, generating linear clamping force. As the hook flattens flush with the base plate, the mechanism passes the over-center point, creating a self-locking state. In this position, any external vibration or shock actually tightens the latch further rather than causing it to open. To open, simply lift the tail of the hook. The mechanism contains no springs or other wear-prone parts, relying entirely on stainless steel-to-stainless steel over-center friction for long-term reliability without rust.

• Drilling: Drill Φ4.2mm holes. For plastic or wood, use self-tapping screws. For metal, tap M4 threads or use rivet nuts.
• Screw selection: Use M4×8-12mm stainless steel pan head or countersunk screws with anti-rust washers. For vibration, use threadlocker (e.g., Loctite 243).
• Alignment: Loosely mount both parts, close the lid, and press the latch. Adjust the strike plate position if the hook scrapes.
• Gap adjustment: With the latch fully closed, there should be no visible gap. If a gap exists, move strike plate inward; if too tight, move it outward.
• Anti-vibration: Check screw tightness every 6 months.
