Working Principle

This latch operates on a classic lever and over-center mechanism. Mount the hook on the lid and the strike plate on the case body. Pressing the hook downward slides it into the strike plate opening, generating linear clamping force. When fully pressed flat, the mechanism passes the over-center point and self-locks. External vibration actually tightens the latch further. To open, simply lift the tail of the hook. The latch relies solely on stainless steel-to-stainless steel friction without springs, ensuring long-term reliability.

Installation Guide

Based on the drawing, the latch features multiple mounting holes. Recommended stainless steel screws. Installation steps:

• Tools: Appropriate diameter drill bits, taps (for metal cases), screwdriver.
• Marking: Place the hook on the lid edge and mark its hole positions. Close the lid, place the strike plate on the case body aligned with the hook, and mark its holes.
• Drilling: Drill holes. For plastic or wood, use self-tapping screws. For metal, tap threads or use rivet nuts.
• Screw selection: Use stainless steel pan head screws with anti-rust washers. For vibrating environments, use medium-strength threadlocker.
• Alignment: Loosely mount both parts, close the lid, and press the latch. Adjust the strike plate position if the hook scrapes.
• Gap adjustment: With the latch fully closed, there should be no visible gap. If a gap exists, move strike plate inward; if too tight, move it outward.
• Anti-vibration: Check screw tightness periodically.
